- I tried making these last Christmas, using a circle paper cutter. Sadly none of them turned out very well, the circle size never worked, and when I bought larger glass buttons, the glass had too many imperfections. To make these work right, you need a perfect paper cutting circle and it needs to be about 60% of the size of the glass button. The larger, 1" glass buttons just won't work (too many cracks, folds, or wrinkles in the glass), so don't bother. But honestly, if you do it right, these things are ADORABLE.
