java99 rated 3 months ago- cool

magenbach rated 5 months ago- While the interior of the body is often visualized as a landscape or terrain, here the perspective is an anatomical landscape from the inside of the nostril looking out. Beautiful to your bones.

alybfreckled rated 17 months ago- this is a collection of bizarre illustrations from as far back as the 16th century. This one reminded me of the Bodies exhibition i saw last week. they had a pregnant lady where you could see the baby and such. it was just like this...only the one i saw didnt have hair, or any skin at all.

snakeophelia rated 30 months ago- These are so beautiful. Kudos to NIH for putting up these drawings.

MysticSpiral rated 36 months ago- An amazing collection of medical illustrations from medieval texts. The material is mostly western/european and it would be interesting to see more non-western examples, but they are hauntingly beautiful.

Inagaki rated 39 months ago- Memento mori.

Oolong rated 42 months ago- If you think old medicine illustrations are bizarre, but you still somehow like it, this is THE source.

rieraci rated 42 months ago- Some surreal imagery from days of medicine past.
