- Good for the folks who like to have pictures with their news; I prefer just a simple list of titles/links/short summaries.
(It's true. I wear a top hat, sport a monacle, mine coal using children under twelve, and answer to the name Lord Rosecrans. I also sport spiffy new shoes, but that is neither here nor there.)

- I don't get anything popping up, but I fail to see how this is better than automated news, which is improving rapidly, or or the old-fashioned kind. From the about page:
"Why the web needs Newser: Machine aggregation searches widely but uses no judgment, so stories selected are not necessarily the most important or interesting, and the sources are often not the best for the story. Sites linked to a particular news brand offer editorial authority and judgment, but are limited by their brand loyalty."
So... Newser is an as-yet-neutral brand.
