Uh, ALL laws are suppose to effect everybody in a broad way. That argument beats the old argument, and also shows that the law in unconstitutional because it only effects a small amount of people in one industry.
Why do you think income tax/sales tax/tariffs are three taxes that people wanted for a period of time instead of the old one. It is because they effect everybody equally. Truly, one by itself won't work, but put them together, you have people paying their fair share for the government they want. This law violates that by taxing strip clubs. Why not tax things like supermarkets with this also?
slobberknocker rated 10 months ago- DALLAS -- In what some have dubbed the "pole tax," Texas will require its 150 or so strip clubs to collect a $5-per-customer levy, with most of the proceeds going to help rape victims.
The tax goes into effect on New Year's Day.
