Health freedom is under assault in Canada with a proposed law, C-51, that could outlaw 60% of the nutritional supplements currently sold in Canada. It would also criminalize activities like picking dandelions, drying herbs, or even giving homeopathic medicine to your own child! From the page: "A new law being pushed in Canada by Big Pharma seeks to outlaw up to 60 percent of natural health products currently sold in Canada, even while criminalizing parents who give herbs or supplements to their children. The law, known as C-51, was introduced by the Canadian Minister of Health on April 8th, 2008, and it proposes sweeping changes to Canada's Food and Drugs Act that could have devastating consequences on the health products industry."

Article is not true. I am very happy this law is going through, please read about it here: http://www2.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?DocId=3398126&File=42 This law mostly protects Canadians against false advertising, which is extremely common in this market. "Natural Health Products" often make false claims regarding what their products do because they are hugely profitable products. Author of this article should read the above link as well. Much of the article is incorrect. It would not make picking dandelions illegal, or drying herbs or giving natural products to your children. It would, however, make it illegal for someone to sell you cancer curing herbs that will not cure your cancer.

WTF? we cannot let this happen . Millions of people die worldwide each year because of the Pharmacuetical cartels. Message to all sane Canadians, rise up against this kind of bullying before we suffer the fate of our neighbours to the south. That have had their discretionary powers taken away from them .
