Finally Take-Off! Fabulous picture from NASA/Jim Grossmann. Atlantis finally got to go to space, heading for the International Space Station! With a major European payload, Columbus, this launch is special to us here on the other side of the Atlantic.

Image from my nasa archives ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING !! From the page: "Cheers and shouts can be heard throughout the space center as Atlantis, carrying the STS-122 crew and Columbus Laboratory, roars off the launch pad into the mid-afternoon sky to begin the 24th mission to the International Space Station. "

I know you've heard this a million times, but what the hell, here I go. How come we can put man on the moon, but we can't feed the millions of people that are starving in this world. I'm not saying the moon isn't cool, & if there is other life out there, well I bet they feed there hungry. Think about it for a sec. The US government spends billions of dollars to explore the unknown, & maybe the unknown is watching us killing them selves laughing. We have to keep people alive to survive. I just know the aliens get it.....why can't we?
