One of the most phenomenal bands of its time. Definately swept the whole decade off its feet. This Sheffield based band managed to make it big, globably, just through myspace. Even though now this is more common, they were the landmark band. And what a landmark they are compared to the other bands of their time, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs can only look up to them. Their fresh sound which shouldn't be described as indie, is built upon their own unique style and not to forget their smartly composed music and lyrics that you just can't get enough of. I can already see myself telling my youths that the artic monkeys were the band of my time without a bad song released. What surprises me, is that my current favorite material of theirs is mostly their unreleased or b-sides material. Look out for "Who the f*%k are the Arctic Monkeys" and "Leave before the lights come on" they will hopefully emerge one day. But for now, i can just hope i will be able to land some tickets next time they are round in london. Artic Monkeys... bloody brilliant

though I can't quite say the arctic monkeys album "whatever people say i am, that's what i'm not" lives up to its rating in the magazine "New Musical Expres as the fifth greatest British album of ALL TIM! - topping, among others, teh beatles' "revolver" and the clash's "london calling". " they are catchy and fun to listen too. I completely resent the idea that this album (which i just finished listening to the entirety of) is better than "london calling" because "london calling" was one of the most genius albums EVER to have existed. but still. check this out, the arctic monkeys may actualy be going somewhere. and though their brilliance is overstated, they aren't as over rated as other bands (not to mention any names but *cough* bloc party *cough*)
