John and Paul had great solo careers and only Rolling Stone magazine would have you think otherwise. Paul also wrote the majority of the songs on the greatest album of all time - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band HA

    OMG! Thank you for this! I always find myself Wiki-ing Beatles songs to find out which one wrote/sang it. And btw, I have to beg to differ with most commenters and say MCCARTNEY is the best beatle!

    Lennon wrote most of the best and continued to have an excellent solo career comparable to or even better than his Beatles era stuff. McCartney had some damn good songs then his solo career is nowhere near the quality of his Beatles era stuff.
