digits rated 13 months ago- that stumble is almost quite depressing.
"Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift."
i don't need to meet wrong people in order that i am grateful for the "right" ones who appear.
this reminds me of the katrina disaster when I heard more "Makes you really grateful doesn't it?" and my resounding, "No!" I don't need to step on the head of someone else's misery in order to feel grateful anymore than I have to stand on my own misery in order that I feel grateful.
"It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives."
Not talking about me here. I know precisely what it is I am missing when I am missing it - of course, I also believe that being "whole" is a natural state. [I can tell you that when I am hungry I understand i am missing food long before I introduce it to myself.]
"... It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone."
I guess it may take a lifetime to forget people who've traumatized you or who else you've developed especially strong feelings for. But I have heard this pithy cliche before and it's never done anything for me.
"Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear."
This page is definitely not my kind of "thoughts to ponder"...who wants to ponder these things?
I'd rather ponder this...Ponder my blessings and the things I am grateful for. Ponder my spiritual perfection and forgiveness of my humanity. Assume the best in people even if they mean the worst. Think kindly of myself because others may not do it for me. Practice the same compassion only to the extent i want others to practice compassion with me.- that stumble is almost quite depressing.
