- Mono is an implementation of .NET for many different platforms. It is no tiny open source project. It's backed by Novell. True, they are behind Microsoft's implementation, and probably always will be, but they're doing a damn good job. They have almost full .NET 2.0 support, which is pretty amazing.

- It's a fucking wooden horse with spartans.
Novell is a proxy. the .Net api is patented. So now everybody is happily developing in ecma standardised c# and in say, 5 years M$ pulls the legel trigger suing everything looking or smelling fs/oss implementing Gnome or related.
