For everyone anoyed by those "true facts" lists out there that are anything but - this one helps put some of those myths to rest. and he even cites sources!

Finally someone that has alot more energy than I do went through one of those stupid "fact" emails.

I like how this person tried to verify this information. It would be nice to have a page that records these pseudofacts and indicates their actual truth with at least one authoritative source to support it. This page is a good start.

I hate chain mail.

Regardless of what you think of this, it illustrates a serious point: most people are too lazy to check facts, and are very gullible because of this. "I read it somewhere" "They said it on TV" "The politician looked sincere when she told us..." This phenomenon has been used and abused to keep people ignorant throughout history. Want to stop being an ignorant idiot and gain control over your life? Find out how to check the veracity of stuff for yourself - question everything. Until you do, you'll just keep on having the same old shit thrown at you.

It is kinda nice to know how many of those "fun facts" are perhaps fun but not so factual.

Interesting, it's good to have verification on some of those random little 'facts' you find. However, a bit pedantic on picking on obscure words or dialects...the emails are meant for normal people, not those who know 'stavesacres' or the Old English 'sporange'
