john77075 rated 17 months ago- totally cool from your eyes only. I heard of this device, but the advances in tech allow us to understand it better. We know nothing of the past.

JSm1th rated 17 months ago- There is always more to history than we think.

amishmechanism rated 18 months ago- This is really cool. The societies of yesteryear were much more advanced than given credit. I'll probably end up researching this more at a latter date.

Benjmn rated 18 months ago- Did not really take the time to read the page, but I do find the mechanism it is about fascinating.

- Though the spelling and such of this page is, well, I'll just say bad, the Antikythera Mechanism sounds like it's worth looking up elsewhere.

- we were just learning about this in my astronomy class. the professor had a cgi video of the complete mechanism in action. pretty crazy.

korkman rated 18 months ago- Very nice in-depth article on an astonishing greek artifact from about 200 BC which has been, and still is, studied for over 100 years to reveal it's potential. With recent news added (Nov '06), the question remains: Why did they build it and what did they use it for? Some kind of modern sea navigation system perhaps?

dragonweb rated 18 months ago- I never understood why we think that people of another time are completely ignorant to anything and everything; just because WE can't find records of said information. I think previous cultures were far more advanced then we give them credit for.

NeoKaneida rated 18 months ago- spooky. never mind the dude who wrote the article-- but the fact that this object looks high tech is mind boggling. the caveman who made it is probably just high on shrooms or something though...
