The 1280x1024 is about 30 pixels too high on my Firefox (OK in IE 7). The others are fine. The percentages are cumulative. That is, the 800 x 600 will fit all users of higher resolutions. Regrading cablecat's comment, I'm guessing gamers use higher resolutions than average.

I don't get those people who browse in full screen mode and who act as if a 900x500 visible area is a thing of the past. There's something wrong about thinking web pages in pixels anyway.

This doesn't even make sense. The percentages add up to 275%. It's a good idea, poor execution.
