actually, when my ipod has songs that my comp doesnt then it says "would you like to transfer files from your ipod to your comp?"

to get every song off the ipod, with ratings and playcounts intact, do a google search for ml_ipod, its a plugin for winamp. I doubt it can rip videos correctly though.

just use linux and you don't have this kind of problem!

Method 1 actually works; I've done it. Just un-hide the files on the iPod and you can copy them to your PC. The file names are all messed up so you can't tell what's what, but all of the ID3 tags and whatnot stay intact so when you import them into itunes, etc.... again all of the artist and song info will still show up.
