As a person who thinks of suicide a lot (hell even now) I can say that most of the information on this page is crap, that is, it is worthless. The generalizations are even off from the real normality.

Uh, if you are thinking of committing suicide, you are not likely to be surfing the web. At least I wouldn't be.

"Suicide is not chosen; it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping with pain."People who think about suicide are not flawed or crazy or nuts. They simply lack additional resources that can lead them out of the abyss into the light. Whether that abyss has been life altering trauma or chemical depression, I want everyone to know who may think about suicide that - although it may not feel like it right now - there are resources available. My advice would also include to not listen to the pat answers of well-intentioned friends, "It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem." Well duh. The problem is that the problem doesn't feel so freaking temporary does it? Or else the same problem continues doesn't it...with seemingly no end in sight.Often, a permanent solution feels more realistic than continueal - pain. I know. But there are resources to enable you to live a better life; Medication, alcohol, drugs, professional therapy, spirituality, religion, books, screaming at the top of your lungs, a change of circumstances...Whatever you need to hold on to in order to get to that place. Please read this page.

Thank you to IndependentMind for showing me this page. I haven't ever seriously been on the suicidal edge myself, but have grieved two too many suicide losses in my family. This link is to a page that anyone who is considering suicide should/could read first. It may also help you if you know someone who may be suicidal. I know this is heavy stuff, but unfortunately it really is needed. ~L4L
