Though my music tastes have changed, as a former Metal Maniacs intern, I can definitely appreciate an organized resource like this.

This site is definitely a book-marker-keeper. Metal to me are bands with singers that can sing, keep time and, carry a tune. In example: Tony Martin, Savatage, Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden, Sammy Hagar, and the singer for Journey. Though the latter two wouldn't necessarily be classified as 'heavy metal.' Good metal could be synonymous with Opera. Maybe they'll be an opera site just as good as this one.

An immense database of metal bands that exist or existed. The encyclopedia of choice for most persons interested in metal. No crappy nu-metal and pseudo-metal bands here, though, for those hoping to find such info on metal archives.
