This SUV by Phoenix Motorcars is an all-electric, zero-emissions vehicle. It can recharge in 10 minutes, and it has a range of a 100 miles or more per charge...

cool

@MrAnalog, even if it is powered by a coal power plant, it's still less polluting than a gasoline or diesel car. The grid is progressively getting cleaner... combustion engines are not. So this car and more like it are a step in the right direction, converting the grid over to solar is a related, but SEPARATE issue!!

Charged by coal generated power (in my case). FAIL.

This is impressive - if it's legit. From the page: "This SUV by Phoenix Motorcars is an all-electric, zero-emissions vehicle. It can recharge in 10 minutes, and it has a range of a 100 miles (or more) per charge. It's fast too"...

Electric cars are *not* "zero emissions". They rely on power that is, in the main, produced by burning fossil fuels. Not only that, but this power then has to be transmitted to the car - which involves significant losses - then used in the vehicle, which involves more loss of efficiency. This means that this "zero emissions" vehicle can be more damaging to the environment than an efficient petrol vehicle. Still, I wouldn't want facts to get in the way of an idea popular with the environmentalists.

I want one. I wonder how much it would cost to get one shipped to the UK?
