This will be great for camping. I must give it a try! As for the plastic issue. If you only use it occasionally you won't be harmed. And yes, omelets are easy to make the traditional way, but when you are back country camping, this would be an easy alternative.

Not a good idea. The bags are not made to withstand that level of heat, and will leech the chemicals into the food. DO NOT do this.
