Is this output of power useful for household needs? I think I want to build one now but I don't know if it will save electricity costs.

Shweet! ah memories....I can remember my 6th grade project ...making a box w/ cans painted black as a solar heat collector. I love these types of projects & esp. when people make use of scrap laying around +++Kudos to you!!!
