From the page: "Such lofty topics of discussion.. and people wonder if we're getting coarser as a society... I'm not in favor of any kind of government censorship, but vulgarity for it's own sake soon loses it's ability to shock, and it just escalates into further and further extremes in order to have any effect. Sort of like what happens to drug addicts. " The evolution of social norms and language is the same process he's speaking of. However, the difference between drugs and "vulgarity" is that vulgarity is an abstract subjective term. No amount of vulgarity will physically kill you. cultures differ and change over time, to try and stop this flow is thankfully impossible and wasteful in the extreme. I look forward to the day when there is no concept of self repression for social normalcy. Eventually what we want to do and what we "should" do will align, as with the animal kingdom, kinda hard for an ant or a lion to be "polite". Consider, during the inquisition people had to lie about their religion. Now we don't, in civilized parts of the world. why? the reason for the lie was obviated, reasons for lying are often oppressive in nature, and should be examined. Manners are the same, consider how "rude" it would be for me to not bow my head at a funeral, or say grace before eating. It's all euphemism for being asked to lie in my view.

"We left in the scenes with Cartman's mom and the horse as per our conversation. This is one joke we really want to fight for."

How the South Park makers got the movie ready for the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) censors back in 1999 - a fun read about what it takes to make a movie acceptable to the powers that be .
