- I was recently visiting my mom who is in a nursing home in another state (near my sister). Mom is a delight to all around her, with her wonderful smiles and laughter. A Native American girl she grew up with named Mom "Laughing Water"... that was in the 1940's I would guess... and even with a severely failing memory she still laughs. She is the sweetheart of the nursing home. My sweet Mama. : ) I had a good visit with her for about a week. If she could, she would say (regarding this article)... "I could have told you that!"
