- People, chill. It's about Captain Freaking America, not your Grandmother. And btw, Cap didn't start throwing his shield until long after the writers gave it to him, so I kinda doubt that was the intention all along.

- "(There is something to be said for the symbolism of Captain American throwing a defensive weapon at foreign enemies when he really should be holding onto it, but for some reason I doubt that the writers saw the irony.)" --- This is the point where I gave up on this smarmy asshole's article. Simon and Kirby had more creativity in their turds than this snark has in his entire body, and I have no doubt whatsoever that the 'irony' he doubts they picked up on was a big part in the creation of the character from day one. What a dipshit.

- An analysis of Captain America done by someone who admits not reading recent comics (some of the best Cap stuff ever), and also never had an interest in Captain America in the first place. He sounds like an expert to me!
