No PR professionals will intentionally ignore a media coverage unless he/she is an amateur.

From the page: "If a company is trying to get the news out, they need to be thorough. Donâ€t expect people to be happy with simply reposting your news without working on reporting their own angle."

Paying attention to requests for more information is critical to a "communications" group. Going partway is just not good enough. If you have not developed the requested information, you need to decide if it is worth developing to get the word out. Even if, in the end, you decide against producing that information you should respond to the request. Going quiet identifies an unreliable source; if you can't answer my email then how can I trust anything you say? That's not a far leap. Good story.

From the page: "I regularly rub shoulders with public relations (PR) folks who seem willing to send to me their latest press releases in hopes that Iâ€ll take their stories and run with them. I manage several blogs covering a variety of subjects, but when it comes to getting the news out my The Auto Writer blog trumps them all."

Crucial information these days! From the page: "Disseminating News, 21st Century Style lazy PR person I had an experience two weeks ago that should grab the attention of corporate executives who understand the importance of disseminating news, perhaps in ways they aren't accustomed to doing. Yes, I mean via blogs the new media way of getting news out to people who have embraced the worldwide web, which means almost everyone."

I always learn from Matt's posts. This one is especially relevant to me right now as I've been trying to promote my startup. If anyone calls me and ask for anything they'll get it and this blog post reinforces that.

"If you don't know how to do the p-u-b-l-i-c part of public relations, then why bother?"
