Learning these rules can help kids tremendously when the get into more difficult long division. It's a great tool for adults to use as well, when estimating.

I should mention that to deriving these are very easy using modulo arithmetic.

Why must StumbleUpon constantly mock my lack of ability to understand simple mathematical concepts? I also find the site's domain name condescending. It is as though they think they can simultaneously convince me that maths is fun and that they are a credible and respectable source of information! They don't even cover calculus or number theory.
