  • Wonders of Math - The Game of Life

I found this passage to be very interesting (this article talks about the game of Life: Is Life Alive? Would living creatures evolve in a sufficiently large Life universe if we waited long enough? We can see that Life, simple as it is to describe, exhibits much of the complexity of our own... more

something tells me the words "nonlinear dynamics" could be invoked to describe this.. but I can't think about that without having the urge to cry.

A simulation of cellular automaton which kinda like a game of 'Go' with a rules exist in life which is survival. Either you are dead or alive. It doesn't end up like a Game of GO, it just Goes on and on.

Thumbs up because at the top of the page there was a banner ad that asked "Who's hotter, Rihanna or Beyonce?" And my first instinct was to vote Beyonce, but then I thought about it, and now I actually think Rihanna is much hotter because she's not fuckin sickening and postured like BeyondBoring-ce. So I learned something about myself. Thank you website.

Really great article about emergent complexity and the Game of Life, which is really less a game and more a simulation with variable initial state.
