- A happened to stumble upon tonesofhome's su page, courtesy of terrie212's recommendation, and was fascinated by a photo by Mark Tucker. A few minutes of browsing through his beautiful photography and I found a category labeled "Little House on the Prairie". I had to take a look and discovered this photo: The significance of this photo is twofold: 1.) It's on the cover of the newest release of By the Shores of Silver Lake, which I have a copy of on my bookshelf. 2.) The reason I own a copy of this book is because it was given to me by the lady who owns the horse in the photo above. She happens to be a very good friend of mine, as well as the wife of our eye doctor. I found the whole series of events leading up to this online discovery quite fascinating. StumbleUpon definitely shows us how wide, vast, and large the world is, but it also shows us how extremely small and connected it can be as well.

- Photography does nothing for me unless there's texture. Mark Tucker's work has beautiful texture smeared all over the place. My shallowerthanme bro-in-law laughs at me for saying most people are lovely to look at (with the very rare exception that occasionally makes me wince.) I think Tucker would probably agree with me.

- I really really like Mark Tucker's photos. Especially the slideshow layout, it makes his photos really accessible. And also, the spotlight feature that occurs for every picture does this interesting thing with your mind. You believe you know how the picture will look, but then when it spotlights and centers, your assumptions are cast aside, and you see something totally new that isn't what you imagined at all.
