This is absolutely incredible. If you're a visual and experiential learner like me, history class probably made you cry. There's nothing drier than trying to memorize dates and places out of context. This gorgeous rendering of how the eastern world changed over the course of civilization will make you want to know more about this stuff, even if you've been out of school for more years than you'd care to admit.

Very nice interactive "map of war". See all the different empires that controlled various parts of the middle east from Egyptians to present day in under five minutes.

I wish we'd had this when I was trying to stay awake in Double History. One thing comes out of it very clearly though - the Arabs have never liked tourists! ;)
