dawniemom discovered 3 months ago- Echoing the feeling of alot of us moms.

phenomenon27 rated 2 months ago- Interesting until you get to the god part. Don't diminish a story about mothers' hard work going unnoticed with fairy tales about an invisible man in the sky...it's childish.

pauls2hot4me rated 2 months ago- I had something to say, but now my mind has gone blank from all the bitter, nasty things that were spewed at this piece. I don't get it. Nice lady, works hard to be a good mom, no one notices (does anyone ever? I know exactly the feeling of being invisible), finds inspiration in the building of cathedrals, and nasty little people think she needs them to bring her down again? What the heck, people? Bitter, much?

CrysAM rated 2 months ago- Actually, it sounds like she's married to a jerk and raising self-centered little brats. And we're supposed to act like this is a good thing?

principleddis rated 3 months ago- From the page: "I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder. As one of the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work on something that their name will never be on. The writer of the book went so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree."

JordeeBec rated 3 months ago- Y'know, I feel like a lot of people miss the point of this article, and here they've gone so far as to blame religion for it. Frankly, MOTHERS WILL NEVER SEE THE APPRECIATION THAT THEY DESERVE in this life. Did your mother have someone applauding her every time she changed your diaper? The point of this article is that mothers (and, truly, everyone else) must find fulfillment in their lives on a personal, spiritual level, and not from external sources like their husband and children. If you don't like it, guess what? There's a big Internet out there. Move along. Why waste your time commenting here?

lgallardo rated 3 months ago- To all those invisible mothers out there, Happy Mothers Day!!

KimProbable rated 3 months ago- From the page: "As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're doing it right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel, not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the world by the sacrifices of invisible women."

- The story epitomizes how I feel about religion.
It is a crutch, a psychological fall-back used to comfort oneself in the face of an otherwise unfaceable world.
We all have our coping mechanisms, and I won't begrudge this woman hers. I'm glad to see that she's happier now, but I suspect her family still doesn't give her the appreciation she deserves, so what of it? - The story epitomizes how I feel about religion.

maddski rated 3 months ago- this is something for all the mothers out there...

Neoscryer rated 3 months ago- Hmm. I don't mind if you need faith to make yourself feel more significant, but I really don't care to hear sob-stories about it. I listen to our parents, and I do what they want me to do. [For the most part.] If her husband and kids are ignoring her, she should step up.
