Not sure why this is considered "Free Tivo", since the author had to purchase PVR software. MythTV is a free software solution, for Linux (which also avoids the Microsoft tax). Check out Mythbuntu or more modern (and freer) solution instead. And mythtvcast.com is a good source of up-to-date information From the page: "PC DVR software I used BeyondTV, which was bundled with the Hauppauge card, but is available from SnapStream separately for $70 at snapstream.com. "

Vista Home Premium comes with Windows Media Center, buy a Media Center PC (or just a card), a big enough monitor (22+) and let it rip, works for me, kills games, and does everything else, keep it simple man.
