Best Sites to Watch TV on Your Computer, over the Internet This British site gives you the info and tools on how to stick it to those blood-sucking cable TV companies. Most cable companies enjoy a monopoly within their communities. So far, they are oblivious to the fact that people now have access to some of the best tools to watch TV on computer. When it comes to the costs of cable TV, consumers are left footing the bill, paying upwards of $80 to $100 every month for a list of about 50 to 100 channels, most of which are filled with half-hour infomercials or documentaries about the many uses of whale blubber in third world countries.

I don't consider the output of the rest of the couple of hundred channels to be worth paying for. But no doubt when it happens, BSkyB will be ahead of the game and the first to implement it in this country; and meanwhile Virgin (or whatever components will make up the cable industry at that time) will be the first to implement an affordable edition which works just as well. And I will be the first to ignore the efforts of both.* Note, however, that I presently use my cable TV service to access 4 On Demand and iPlayer; I don't use Windows and find the implementation of the Kontiki service irritating and counter-intuitive. And too demanding of attention. At least the web interface for iPlayer works.

who needs a dvr anymore when you can watch all the tv shows you missed for free, even ones that aired months, years, or decades ago? This wseet site will tell you where to look for what you want to watch. (If you haven't downloaded it illegally already ;) )
