I have never gotten a stuck pixel, nor seen one. And I work on computers a lot and have a cheapo screen from samsung. I think the threat of dead pixels is a little over done.

Looks like some smart ways to try and fix stuck pixels on a LCD Monitor. Don't know how well they work but it's worth a try.
