    This is great! Bird and bat friendly, too. But I wonder how much it costs. Another thing: is it aircraft and U.F.O. friendly?

    I'm annoyed I didn't think of this first. I've been thinking of ways to harness the power in the jet streams but had been concentrating on kites. I'm loving this stumble though. I'm with gigglepro at being annoyed with people's N.I.M.B.Y attitude towards wind power. I'm damn furious that my government recently spent a sum of money bailing out our (and one American) banks that would have built enough wind turbines to power our entire country and left a load of power to export to others! Oh and there would have been enough change to have provided clean drinking water to every third world country and disaster area on the planet!! That's just the UK; can you imagine what the American bailout would have paid for?

    Wind and solar are the cleanest energy source, despite their incredibly low efficiency compared to fossil fuels and nuclear sources. If this technology takes off, then the world may stand half a chance of coming through global warming relatively unscathed.

    we should be developing and harnessing alternative energy as soon as humanly possible. coal-fired and fuel power plants are monsters.
