AT THE CANSECWEST HACKERS CONTEST 2008 MAC AND VISTA WERE HACKED! LINUX UBUNTU WON!! SPREAD THE NEWS! LET'S BREAK OUT THE CHAMPAGNE!!! Ubuntu wins CanSecWest Hack Off. The winners and losers in the CanSecWest zero day hack contest are in. The winner is Ubuntu, as it was the only OS who did not fall to hackers. The losers are Apple OS X.5.2, Safari, Windows Vista SP 1 and Adobe Flash. The Windows Vista laptop went down after Adobe Flash Player was installed. DimitryGH followed up on the earlier news that the MacBook Air lost CanSecWest by noting that "Last year's winner of the CanSecWest hacking contest has won the Vista laptop in this year's competition. According to the sponsor TippingPoint's blog, Shane Macaulay used a new 0day exploit against Adobe Flash in order to secure his win. At the end of the day, the only laptop (of OS X, Vista, and Ubuntu) that remained unharmed was the one running Ubuntu. How's that for fueling religious platform wars?"Read more of this story at Slashdot. Considering some 'comments' on this website: using the F-word in a review is always an excuse for not having real arguments! I would say to this person: grow up and get a life!

I'm wondering what the criteria to be considered "hacked" was to win this competition, did they have to get root access, or just do a specific task, or what?
