I disagree with Step314. While I agree the US and Britain both have a huge collective weight problem which has serious health implications I don't think women hating their bodies or feeling guilty for eating is the answer. I think we need to develop a society in which women can feel happy... more

I'm not supporting anything that refers to itself as hip and irreverent. And if it's so big on different body shapes, why does it not in fact have any such images? One moderately attractive black woman, one thin stomach, one thin photoshopped woman. As someone who is naturally very thin regardless of eating habits, the demonisation of thin people and celebration of obese people is also not a particularly appealing tactic (feed the model game... yeah)

From the page: Thick thighs. Narrow hips. Thick lips. Thin ones. Big nose, small boobs. Flat butt, fat butt. Dark skin, light skin. You got what ya got. Can you find the courage to love it all...right now?

"Rock what your mama gave ya" is a good quotation - we should not mingle beauty ideals with acting out problems over our bodies, like over-eating or anorexia has to do with; it is about the colours we were given, the noses and the length of our legs ...

Am I the only one that finds it highly ironic that her bio picture is highly touched up to make her appear more 'attractive' (comparing it to her not-so-flattering picture under 'tour'). Regardless, I don't find this site at all interesting or helpful in my body image. I think accepting yourself is one thing, but ignoring your flaws (such as over-eating in excess) is certainly not part of that step.

Newsflash: changing the target of discrimination to someone you don't feel bad for doesn't make it go away. Men are told what body shape it is they're looking for sexually; "the media" is criticized for noticing beauty (an action we're all guilty of); and finally, women who weigh under 150lbs. are constantly called vain, self-obsessed, anorexic or slutty. Stop telling me I'm not "real" because I don't have a weight problem to blame entire industries or societies for.
