ScarySquirrel rated 14 months ago- I suspect that they used magnets to align their stones, and used the nanospheres as guides.

induscrypt rated 14 months ago- From the page: "Why do the results of Barsoum's research matter most today? Two words: earth cements. "How energy intensive and/or complicated can a 4,500 year old technology really be? The answer to both questions is not very," Barsoum explains. "The basic raw materials used for this early form of concrete-limestone, lime, and diatomaceous earth-can be found virtually anywhere in the world," he adds. "Replicating this method of construction would be cost effective, long lasting, and much more environmentally friendly than the current building material of choice: Portland cement that alone pumps roughly 6 billion tons of CO2 annually into the atmosphere when it's manufactured." "Ironically," says Barsoum, "this study of 4,500 year old rocks is not about the past, but about the future.""

trebordoow rated 14 months ago- Well, Folks here we have another explanation as to how the pyramids were built. Are you ready?

So, this means we Egyptians had alien friends that let us borrow some of their gems?
Interesting read ;),

man-in-trees rated 14 months ago- Fascinating and certainly more plausible than hauling massive limestone blocks.

JeraDarklighter rated 14 months ago- Fascinating. At least the tops of the pyramids were cast concrete rather than quarried limestone. And even more interestingly, this low-tech concrete is so excellent and so simple that it is cheaper, better, and better for the environment than the kinds we make today... so now they are doing research into how to apply this knowledge in modern times. The ancient Egyptians never cease to amaze.

flyingrose rated 14 months ago- Did you know the pyramids were actually made of CAST blocks - not blocks chiseled from natural stone? From the page: "Davidovits claimed that the stones of the pyramids were actually made of a very early form of concrete created using a mixture of limestone, clay, lime, and water. "
