These holes are not only amazing, but some of them are really terrifying! The sheer magnitude of these gaping holes reminds us of how men will scar the earth to pursue their quest for power and wealth.

Okay, this is pretty cool. I like the idea below about drilling holes to accommodate overpopulation. Drilling down is probably more stable than building up (just watch out for those floods though.

Big ass holes (no pun intended) in the earth. Imagine if one day we had to drill holes to create more room for overpopulation / buildings etc.
