These things are usually self-evident, but I was struck by the succint way it summarises something that at some level I knew but had never really thought about: "Building your character is essential for happiness. When you are true to yourself and others, you will be in peace. The way to start building character is by making promises and keeping them." Not just promises to others- but perhaps more essentially- promises to your self.
