This is great, because the books recently used for reference would always be on top. It's a disorganized system only if you are already organized, which I'm not. Maybe re-think keeping books that never leave the bottom of the pile.

I have some gravity book shelfs, they're called stacks and they suck. Pull a book out and 3 want to go with, then you lose whatever order your books were in. decoration for non readers
