As a licensed amateur radio operator who is currently learning code, I can confidently say that this is an awful way to learn Morse code. This tree method is a nice novelty but try thinking dits and dahs at 25 words per minute and higher. You'll be lost in a matter of seconds. The true method of learning Morse code requires "habit forming". Where you write letters bases on the rhythm of the characters, not by thinking about dots and dashes. If you'd like to learn the code google the "Koch" method. Some great free programs include "G4FON Koch Trainer", "Morse Machine", "CW Player" and "Morse Runner". 73, John

An interesting way to learn Morse Code. In most of the world today, people don't necessarily use it. However, in the world of Amateur Radio, it's a favorite mode of communication, thus my desire to learn it. Worth trying anyway.

Yes, this IS useful in 2009. Haven't you seen "Independence Day?" Seriously... Morse code can get through when vocal transmissions would be garbled due to a poor signal. Amateur radio still works even when cell phone towers are downed and other forms of communication are disrupted. Just because we don't need it very often doesn't mean it should be discarded as outdated and useless. You never know when it could save our collective behinds from aliens. :P
