The drawing in the 14/16 years category reminds me of Andy Warhol for some reason.

Until recently I worked in an art supply store and often met frustration from parents who wanted their 8 year olds to draw like adults. Having learned about the psychology and development of childrens' art abilities, I tried to explain that there is a very definite process, and that some of it has to do with changes in the brain and thinking processes. They didn't generally get it. :( But parents, take note of this page.

I enjoy getting people to start drawing again. This looks OK but what else is out there about drawing development. The only thing I agree with for sure is the joy of drawing can get knocked out of a person very easily. Drawing is a natural ability and everyone should indulge and enjoy drawing. Picasso summed it up - in that he wanted to be able to draw like a child - and spent his life trying. You don't have to draw like Durer or DaVinci to be good at drawing. If you've stopped, start again - doodle.
