This site is dedicated to displaying a collection of wedding photos, circa mid to late seventies, found near a dumpster. I am old enough to have an anaphylactic response at the sight of these, simply by remembering the heat from the off gassing of all that polyester. However, as the writer in this site mentions "... so much paneling" as her aesthetic distress, I am physically affected by the confusing level of plaid, checks and pin stripes found all over this event. Really, my knees shoot up to my chin when I try not to boogie while looking at this. Plaid has a proud Celtic origin. Here is an example of an entire decade bent on reinterpreting it to farcical heights. Has plaid yet to regain its dignity? Sadly, yes. Also, one must consider the guest whom we can't see:The Wedding Photographer. A cousin? A friend of a cousin in art school with a dark room in his bathroom, "Promise! He could really use the gig." There are some wonderfully staged moments in this collection, other than this one. (try the groom and his buddy on the stairs, looking like confidential informants for Barnaby Jones.) Thank you for tolerating this seventies rant. Go see the page and potentially feel the seventies rage.
