Easy to obtain ingredients, hours of fun, extreme danger... and that's how we like it!

I keep hearing about "The Young Man`s Book of Amusement". Last time I encountered it, it taught me how to make nitrogen triiodide (a contact explosive). I think it's time for me to find a copy of this book ;) Also, $500? Pshaw. Not saying where, but 45 seconds of research showed me a place where I can get ~22lb of sulfur for ~$90, and iron filings for $3.08 per 1-lb bag. We're talking less than $200 here, folks :) Oh, and please, for the love of Avogadro, don't do this. The unreacted sulfur will boil, releasing big clouds of ridiculously toxic and corrosive sulfur dioxide, killing anything unfortunate enough to be around and probably contaminating the ground for years.
