From the page: "Digital music made easy. No ads. No subscriptions. Totally legal." Buy a Web song for 10 cents, an MP3 for 79 cents more...

In an overhaul that's either brave or insane or both, lala is now offering full-song high-quality streaming of tons of popular and indie tunes. Additionally, you can upload your own music and listen to it anywhere! Not sure how long this'll last 'til it gets sued out of existence, but definitely cool while it's around :-)

Get cheap CDs and support artists. I wish there was a better way to track when a CD is requested. I'll get an email for a request and someone else has filled it. Like File sharing without the viruses and theft....

It seems to be a good site, allthough I can not test it, because I'm from Germany

This is a great idea (not the first CD trading site, but well laid out). In the end each trade totals $1.75 which is cheaper than getting a used CD on amazon for a penny ($0.01 + 2.98 shipping). One of the best stumbles so far.

Music CD Trading "Most musicians don't live large with a big house and five cars. Rather, the majority of musicians struggle to make a living from their recordings and must depend on other income producing activities such as performing concerts or selling merchandise. Artists should make a lot more from each CD. lala is taking the unprecedented action of giving artists 20% of the revenues from used CDs, no used record store or online site does this today. Do your part by doing the right thing: remove songs from your iPod or PC if you've agreed to send the CD to another member. If you want to listen to that CD again, just add it to your Want List and help us support that artist you can't get enough of. You'll have access to plenty of good music to enjoy in the meantime. We'll make sure of that! Respect the artists and Karma will be on your side."

I dig it. The concepts are intriguing indeed. And it's nice to hear about Internet entrepreneurs taking chances and spending their money to make something that people would want.

Great site, well thought out. If you don't need music instantly and are willing to have some patience you can get all the music you want without the DRM of itunes.
