For once try demanding that everything you believe have "sufficient evidence"... you'll throw your sad little religion right out the fucking window.

- I promised myself not to participate in more religious debate here on SU, but biased stuff like this makes my blood boil. I was thinking about doing a counter-argument post against this site, but this guy does way a better job than I ever could. Don't worry, it's Christian but based on tangible facts. Speaking about facts... get your facts straight before thumbing up this kind of stuff. ALWAYS double check somewhere else.

- This site needs much more solid evidence before it even gets on the road to disproving Jesus existed. Otherwise it's just a website with intolerance.

- It's unnerving to think that the old agnostic mantra "Jesus was an historical figure" might be wrong. We'll look back in 500 years and Jesus will be the same as all those other mythological fictions (Odysseus, Osiris, et al).

- This site doesn't provide any evidence for its claims, and most of its assertions make no sense. Example: "Unlike the mythical Jesus, a real historical figure like Julius Caesar has a mass of mutually supporting evidence." Well of course, Caesar has a ton of evidence -- he had all the money and power to get his face and name printed on everything! You're talking about the first emperor of Rome, vs. a carpenter who garnered a few followers before he was crucified. Of course there will be more evidence for Caesar. And what does it matter if some religions share some of the same principles? There is no religion on Earth in which the single god of the universe comes to earth in mortal form, with human weaknesses, and can be hurt and even killed. That's what makes christianity unique. Oh yeah, and the priests have been paying off the scientists and historians for 200 years to keep the secret. That makes a lot of sense. Like we can keep any secret for more than a couple years at best these days! I chose to be a scientist because we look for truth, not for money. Talk about your half-baked conspiracy theories, sheesh.
