DreamingEye discovered 12 months ago- Damn. This is what I wanted to do my senior thesis on. I've already been talking to professors, have most of my thesis committee assembled, and was getting ready to start. I'm glad someone did it... but what will I do now? Maybe I can salvage an interesting project from this one, maybe I'll have to get going with something completely different. Damn.

Altanic rated 7 months ago- The melding of hands-on (literally) manipulation with software logic is what I like

Otchy rated 8 months ago- w00t!

choim rated 10 months ago- This is like reaching into the computer monitor and moving things or altering parameters with your hands. Many of us work better this way. For example, I despise monitors that don't have a physical volume-control knob. A knob is instantaneous but the clickclickclick method takes mental attention and extra time.

corbs83 rated 10 months ago- This is a good idea. However - The pucks should be virtual and part of the software/interface. Then properties could be set on a per-puck basis rather than having all these physical objects to constrain the movement of them.

Coolies rated 11 months ago- Wow, optimization using mechanical constraints as well as software. I'm not sure what extra abilities this will give the optimization algorithm, but I'd say it definitely makes the system easier to conceptualize. Very Cool =D

jaxkesa rated 11 months ago- Interesting optimization technique using physical (mechanical) constraints aswell as software......A few negative comments below but the guy in the video sums it up quite well at the end; it balances the software with the users' intuative understanding of suttle issues that may be difficult to quantify.

brainstew rated 11 months ago- mechanical intervention in computation

SquirrelsAreMean rated 11 months ago- Seems cool. Especially the lubricant. But I don't get it.

- it's cool, but seems useless. everything he's doing with physical objects could be done more easily within the software, and with better accuracy. i actually kind of like that my computer works just fine without dish soap and weights. =P
