There's nothing wrong with using 'said'. Many of these attributions are unnecessary.

other words for 'said'....nice!

so, basically its a list of words for you to use because you suck at writing dialog and have to portray emotion outside of it. seriously, using any of those words in a story is nothing short of literary suicide

These words are really unneeded. The way something is said should be clear from the context and content of what is being said, rather than the word attached to the dialogue.

Although this is a neat list people need to use 'said' more in their writing, not less.

... and said is fine enough, thank you very much.

If you want good, solid writing, just use the word "said". Anything else tends to distract from the writing.

other words for said. good resource

A nice list, but should be used sparingly. There's nothing wrong with using "he said" or "she said" at the end of a line of dialogue. Overuse of these words is a violation of the Show, don't tell rule of writing.

While some of the words are stretches, this is a semi-decent list. As others have said, you shouldn't even need "said" all that often if your writing is good, but everybody needs a place to start, and expanding your vocabulary for "said" is a decent place to start, as it will help get you thinking in more descriptive methods.

Of course, there will always be a place for "said" and there will always be people who use the wrong word for the wrong effect, but these people are beyond help usually, anyway.

Anyway, as was also mentioned, a thesaurus is one of the best friends any writer can have.
