10% of the worlds population, 6.8 billion, are on the internet. 1% of the population, 6 million people are on Twitter.Food for thought:What happen's to society when 25% are online and 10% are on Twitter.

The Article has some interesting Tables which show the percent of growth in Internet Users between 2000 and 2008, as well as the Percentage of the total Worldwide Users that are in each Geographic area + many other interesting Stats.
