tringtring discovered 3 months ago- These floating wind turbines generate several megawatts of clean renewable energy.

- Yeah i agree, we have all these wind, solar and hydro power but we are still lagging in the development of a better storage medium to store those unused energy for future use. Alternative Fuels; Hybrid SUV

pirlook rated 3 months ago- old story

Strongrope rated 3 months ago- Got to love the non-traditional renewable energy projects. Always fun to look at, even if they never get out of concept phase

fastfastlane rated 3 months ago- "Wind turbines at ground level produce at a rate of 20-25%, but when placed at altitudes from 600-1000 feet, energy output can double. Ottawa-based Magenn Power is in the prototype stages of the world's first floating wind turbine. The Magenn Air Rotor System or MARS is a stationary blimp kept afloat with helium and tethered into place on an electrical grid. Centrifugal blades on the MARS can generate up to several megawatts of clean, renewable energy at a price well below our current grounded wind turbines."
