Sound advice for living life, courtesy The Atheism Web: * There is more to moral behavior than mindlessly following rules. * Be especially sceptical of positive claims. * If you want your life to have some sort of meaning, it's up to you to find it. * Search for what is true, even if it makes you uncomfortable. * Make the most of your life, as it's probably the only one you'll have. * It's no good relying on some external power to change you; you must change yourself. * Just because something's popular doesn't mean it's good. * If you must assume something, assume something easy to test. * Don't believe things just because you want them to be true. * All beliefs should be open to question.

The part I don't get is why Athiests and Christians have to fight.. Believe what you believe and leave me the fuck alone... That goes to BOTH sides... I'm tired of being woken up by christians knocking on my door to try and get me into their church (and to add money to their donation plates), and I'm tired of Athiests thinking that they have to challenge every utterance of the word "God".... Even more astounding is that so many Christians add themselves to the "Atheist/Agnostic" interstests category on SU, apparently so that they no longer have to look for preaching victims, but to have them delivered right to them. I wonder if Athiests do the same... do they add Christianity or "Religion" so that they can tell the world that they believe there is no God? What's the point? I say, if atheists bother you, don't visit their "secret hangouts" and likewise, if Bible thumpers piss you off, don't go looking for trouble... That makes too much sense though... This site gets neither a Thumbs UP or DOWN.... I shall likely remove all religious crap off of my SU interests soon... All it does is agitate volatile people....

For the most part, this looks good. Keep up the good work!

Uru is correct. Atheism is just another belief system and like all of them (christianity, judaism et al ad naseum) requires that you suspend disbelief to accept it's central tenet. And that, dear friends, is whacked. The site is well orgainzed though..

From the page:
"Words are slippery things, and language is inexact. Beware of assuming that you can work out someone's philosophical point of view simply from the fact that she calls herself an atheist or an agnostic."

Interesting (I use the word broadly, not knowing what spin I'm dealing with here) adjunct to the next SU down.
