From the page: "Bharatendu Prakash, from the Organic Farming Association of India, told the Press Association: "Farmers' suicides are increasing due to a vicious circle created by money lenders. They lure farmers to take money but when the crops fail, they are left with no option other than death." "

I wonder if this will make anyone look around and at least moniter their buying habits. He..ha..BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHahaaaaaaa.. yeah...heeheh.. right... Oh *whew* I slay me.But seriously folks, why haven't some of us gone board hunting?I just love it when people call me paranoid when I say Monsanto is evil. The vast majority of you need to shut up. Even if you were capable of understanding whats in play here, you don't have the willpower to even ATTEMPT a perfunctory gesture in the right direction.Nothing will change until the technology arrives to obviate the systems in place that keep governments and organizations like Monsanto breathing. So enjoy your diet coke.Just go back to staring at your crotch and trying to figure out how to get laid or land that gold plated husband.Nothing to see here except masses of poor people suffering a bit more than normal. And that's the real tragedy here, this is normal. the one and only thing that makes this special is the fact that its happening all at once.If you had a pizza delivered in the last 10 years you are complicit in virtually every poverty driven suicide during that period. Yeah, its that bad, its that interconnected, and its right there for you to see if you have the sand to look. You're on that list as much as the rest of us. The entire system itself causes these atrocities, they are required for us to live the way we do.So long as we think of our mates and our jobs and the TV as our lives, these things will never end. And no amount of charity will fix it. No political action will fix it. At best we could shift the suffering around to somewhere we wont see it.The only people not to blame are the ones trying with every spare dollar to lift themselves up and off of the grid. Because every self sufficient household is one not funding the social systems that cause those sorts of atrocities.Yeah it is that simple.Water, Electricity, Garden, Recycling.Watch where you spend your money, and watch who you sell your labor to, think about where it ends up and who you're really helping.

the debate that rages in the comments is disturbing. especially when i looked up the practices of the mentioned company named Monsanto regarding the widespread use of cancerspreading pesticides and pushing genetically modified foods!

This is the REAL India. The so called DEMOCRACY playing in the hands of religious and fanatic Indians. Almost 70% people are living under the poverty level. 18 Separatist Movements going on with Naxalites being the biggest one of them all but since they control the media along with the Zionists, they only show dancing girls and smiling faces. You got to be there to know the truth.

I'm struck dumb by the horror of this. Best, I think, to look on in silence.
